Track and Field Competition Days

Our Track & Field season is run over summer from October through to March each year.

Athletes from 5-15 years of age compete weekly in a range of running, throwing and jumping events with the aim of improving their performances focusing on PBs.

Each week athletes compete in 4 events (3 on a twilight). The four events will involve a variety or track, throwing and jumping events.

Competition Days are held mainly on Saturday morning with setup commencing at 7.00am. All Parents are required to assist with setup and pack up. Competition day commences at 8.30am sharp. We ask athletes to arrive between 8.00am and 8.15am.

On some occasions during the season we have a Twilight competition on a weeknight evening instead of our normal Saturday morning session. Twilight competition setup starts at 4.00pm. We ask athletes to arrive between 5.00pm and 5.15pm for warm up. First Events will be called at 5.30pm sharp. These events are held during the week as usually there is a Region/state event held that weekend.

The expectation is that all parents volunteer at events on at least five occasions throughout the season for their child to be eligable for awards and participation in the Centre Championships at the end of the season. Athletics simply cannot happen without the support of our parents volunteering on Saturday. You'll find that some of the roles required to be filled are not difficult at all so come on, roll up the sleeves and come on out and help PRLAC!  We do ask all volunteers to sign in at each event. This is to keep a record of who has been volunteering.
