JULIE HOPES SPORTS ATHLETE AWARD
Julie Hopes was an athlete who had scoliosis and enjoyed participating in little athletics even though she only was able to compete in the running and walking events. She commenced from U6’s all the way through to U16’s. Unfortunately, Julie passed away at the age of 26 years but had come back to the Centre to watch her nephews and nieces compete.
This Award was named after Julie due to her great fundraising effort for scoliosis and for donating this money to the Centre.
Nominated by other PRLAC athletes, this is an award given to an athlete (not necessarily classed as a winner), who has been competing at the Centre.
CRITERIA
- Show initiative with other Athletes.
- Shows good sportsmanship at events while competing.
- Co-operative towards Officials and Parents.
- Pleasant and friendly nature towards other Athletes.
- Regular attendance (at least 80%).
